Business Development Manager

Pulse is a dynamic health and wellness marketing agency and we are seeking an equally dynamic Business Development Manager to manage our B2B sales and marketing efforts. We’re looking for a hunter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong strategic chops, and the ability to cultivate client relationships. The ideal candidate has experience in the food and/or consumer packaged goods industry, client- or agency-side.


 Reporting to the CEO, responsibilities of the Business Development Manager include

  • Managing and executing prospecting activities to generate sales leads and opportunities

  • Researching organizations and individuals to find new contacts and opportunities

  • Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings

  • Planning and overseeing new business processes and initiatives

  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events

  • Developing quotes and proposals for clients

  • Working with team members to ensure quality of execution for clients to establish long-term client relationships that result in additional sales


  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3–5 years of experience in sales, marketing or related field

  • Preferred experience includes food or consumer packaged goods on the client or agency side, including brand marketing, account management, business development and/or related areas

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with common web-based small business tools and services, such as MailChimp, HubSpot, and LinkedIn. 

This is a virtual position working remotely. The ideal candidate must be able to work productively and collaboratively outside of a traditional office setting, both managing their own responsibilities and coordinating effectively with other team members.

This is a contract-to-hire position with an initial 6-month contract term.

Compensation includes base salary plus commission or other bonus incentive structure.
